McGriff's Original LockGroomer - Process

(Procedure and method of use)

Dreadlocks should be completely dry before applying McGriff’s Original LockGroomer. Begin by sectioning the Dreadlocks so that single Dreadlocks can be sequentially selected to be groomed, beginning at the nape area.

Apply a small amount of wax or light solid oil to palms of hands and roll the Dreadlock between hands, counter clockwise, or opposite the direction the roots have been twisted, while lightly coating the Dreadlock shaft.

Mist the selected Dreadlock with a light spritz or holding spray

It is important to Wipe McGriff’s Original LockGroomer with a towel each time before reheating. Once McGriff’s Original LockGroomer has been heated to a temperature applicable to the hair texture and condition, the grooming process consists of two steps. Note: If McGriff’s Original LockGroomer scorches tissue paper, then it is too hot for the hair.

The first step is to position the Dreadlock in the bottom, or lower elongated channel of McGriff’s Original LockGroomer. While rolling the Dreadlock clockwise, or opposite the direction the roots have been twisted, between fingers, the lower channel is moved sequentially along the shaft of the Dreadlock, from the area proximate to the scalp out to the end of the Dreadlock.

The second step is to position McGriff’s Original LockGroomer with both upper and lower channels snugly around the Dreadlock and sequentially move McGriff’s Original LockGroomer along the shaft of the Dreadlock, periodically adding light pressure, from the area of the Dreadlock proximate to the scalp out to the end of the Dreadlock, while rolling the Dreadlock between fingers, to complete the grooming process.

Repeat the above step as McGriff’s Original LockGroomer is closed around the Dreadlock. Leave enough room to roll the Dreadlock while simultaneously packing and smoothing the Dreadlock.

This process will polish, smooth, pack, help to repair, and keep Dreadlocks healthy, and aesthetically pleasing to those who prefer a groomed look.

Warning: Do not touch to McGriff’s Original LockGroomer to skin or scalp. Do not place McGriff’s Original LockGroomer near flammable material. McGriff’s Original LockGroomer is for use by professionals only.
